On 2nd April 2022, Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, Chairman of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya Dayaka Sabha, Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Russian Federation has conferred the title ‘Sasana Keerthi Deshabhimani’ by the Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatta Chapter most venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Maha Nayaka Thera and the Karaka Maha Sangha Sabha of the Malwathu Maha Vihara, held at the Malwatta Maha Vihara Uposathagaraya.
This title has been conferred on Dr. Weerasinghe in recognition of his contribution to the revival of religious, cultural and social services in Sri Lanka and internationally.
Anunayake of the Asgiriya Chapter of Siam Nikaya, Most Venerable Anamaduwe Dhammadassi Thero, Maha sangha representing other provinces and Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara also were presented at the occasion.
